Savoy Filmtheater

(1 Rating)
Classy, sleek and modern big-screen cinema

From the ashes of the now-defunct and beloved Streits cinema comes this elegant and leather-seated original movie palace opened in 2013 by the team previously behind the Streits. A cinema existed in this location during the last century, but everything about the one-screen Savoy is new. The programming is mostly Hollywood, with no German dubbing or subtitles, while German films are screened twice monthly. Also schedules live broadcasts of theatrical and opera productions from London and beyond. Located in St Georg, which bodes well for its becoming another local landmark of gay Hamburg.
