Hamburg's main concert hall for classical works

Built in 1908, when it qualified as German's largest and most modern concert hall, the neo-baroque Laeiszhalle stages classical concerts performed by the Philharmoniker Hamburg and the Hamburger Symphonike. The hall also housed the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra (formerly the NDR Sinfonieorchester), but in January 2017 the NDR became the orchestra-in-residence at the newly opened Elbphilharmonie.
