Männerschwarm (Closed Permanently)

No ratings yet
Proper gay bookshop
Serious but friendly non-corporate bookstore with a full range of gay/lesbian-interest materials, both in German and English, from Oscar Wilde, EM Forster and Virgina Woolf to modern-day comics, feature films on DVD and a cornucopia of porn. The business started in 1981, the vision of Henning Rademacher and Dieter Telge. Since 1986 it's been run by Hans-Jürgen Körster (with, more recently, Volker Wuttke), who in 2002 moved it from St Pauli to the Lange Reihe, diagonally opposite Cafe Gnosa [see entry]. Very sadly Männerschwarm closed in early 2015.
