Thalia Theater

No ratings yet
Renowned Hamburg live theatre

Considered by many to be Hamburg's most vital theatre, the Thalia (named after the Ancient Greek muse of comedy and poetry) stages works by an ambitious, adventurous and impressive range of writers, from Sophocles, Shakespeare and Schiller to Ibsen, Camus, John Osborne and Don DeLillo. Started in 1843 by Charles Maurice Schwartzenberger, it's potentially a bit more edgy here than at other theatrical establishments.
