A welcoming and inclusive café-bar at the heart of a gay community centre, opened in 1983 on the 115th birthday of its namesake, pioneering German sexologist and physician Magnus Hirschfeld (1868–1935), who campaigned for the rights of homosexuals and fought for the impunity of homosexual behavior. Housed in an old bakery, the centre operates a full programme of services and events for gays, lesbians , bisexuals and transgender people, while the café-bar-bistro serves food and drink. Closed Saturday. Located just south of Hamburg Stadtpark. U-Bahn: Borgweg.
