Superior northern German beef and pliable buns defined this excellent burger establishment when it opened in the summer of 2014 at the very top of the Lange Reihe in gay St Georg (then closed and re-opened in August 2017, albeit in a much bigger premises on the other side of the street). As of 2022, the emphasis is no longer on beef, replaced by the now-signature pea-and-wheat Portland Patty, though beef is most surely still available, and there's a chicken burger. Portobello mushrooms, chilli, guacamole and black beans all figure prominently in the mix. This is one of four Otto's Burgers in Hamburg, the others being in Grindel (near the university), in Schanze and further afield in Ottensen. Prices are not as reasonable as they once were, but that's now a universal pickle. A covered outdoor seating area provides convenient views of the Lange Reihe catwalk.
