A key Hamburg coffee outlet that appears to have a commitment to the darker side of coffee culture, named after local roaster Deathpresso, whose goth-like logo is emblazoned across the shopfront. Located on the cusp of the hip and lively Schanzenviertel at the crossroads of St Pauli and Sternschanze, Deathpresso includes both indoor and outdoor possibilities for sipping the day away, with a breakfast menu (including weekend buffet) a major draw. Started in 2009 by Thomas Haack under the name 'Kopiba' (an invented moniker drawn from Asian and Hawaiian words for 'coffee' and 'bar'), the establishment remains a Hamburg one-off. AKA Death presso.
